The company develops, manufactures, assembles, and delivers commercial engines, including long haul airliners, short-and medium-haul aircraft, business jets, and helicopters, as well as commercial aircraft engines, such as wide body, narrow body, regional, and business jets; military engines, such as fighter jets, helicopters, and transporters; and industrial gas turbines.

Segments

The company operates through two segments, Commercial and Military Engine; and Commercial Maintenance (MRO).

Commercial and Military Engine

This segment develops, manufactures, assembles and delivers commercial and military engines and components. The maintenance, repair and overhaul of military engines is also included in this segment.

Commercial maintenance business (MRO)

This segment maintains, repairs and overhauls aircraft engines and industrial gas turbines. In addition to complete engine maintenance, the services provided also include engine module and parts repairs, as well as related services.

History

MTU Aero Engines AG was founded in 1913. The company was formerly known as MTU Aero Engines Holding AG and changed its name to MTU Aero Engines AG in May 2013.
