Segments

Property-Casualty

This segment offers various insurance products to both private and corporate customers, including motor liability and own damage, accident, general liability, fire and property, legal expense, credit, and travel insurance.

Life/Health

This segment offers a range of life and health insurance products on both an individual and a group basis, including annuities, endowment and term insurance, unit-linked and investment-oriented products, as well as full private health, supplemental health, and long-term care insurance.

Asset Management

This segment operates as a global provider of institutional and retail asset management products and services to third-party investors. It also provides investment management services to the company’s insurance operations. The products for retail and institutional customers include equity and fixed-income funds, as well as multi-assets and alternative products. The United States, Canada, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region represent the primary asset management markets.

Corporate and Other

This segment includes the management and support of the company’s businesses through its strategy, risk, corporate finance, treasury, financial reporting, controlling, communication, legal, human resources, technology, and other functions. Furthermore, it includes the banking activities in France, Italy, and Bulgaria, global alternative investment management services in the real estate sector, mainly on behalf of the company’s insurance operations, as well as digital investments.

History

The company was founded in 1890. It was formerly known as Allianz AG and changed its name to Allianz SE in 2006.
