Erste Group Bank AG offers a range of banking and other financial services, such as savings accounts, asset management (including investment funds), consumer credit and mortgage lending, investment banking, securities and derivatives trading, portfolio management, project finance, foreign trade financing, corporate finance, capital market and money market services, foreign exchange trading, leasing and factoring. The company also offers overnight deposits and term deposits.

Segments

The company operates through Retail; Corporates; Group Markets; Asset/Liability Management & Local Corporate Center; Savings Banks; and Group Corporate Center segments.

Retail

This segment comprises the business with private individuals, micros and free professionals within the responsibility of account managers in the retail network. This business is operated by the local banks in cooperation with their subsidiaries, such as leasing and asset management companies with a focus on simple products ranging from mortgage and consumer loans, investment products, current accounts, savings products to credit cards and cross selling products, such as leasing, insurance and building society products.

Corporates

This segment comprises business done with corporate customers of different turnover size (small and medium-sized enterprises and Large Corporate customers), as well as commercial real estate and public sector business.

Group Markets

This segment comprises trading and markets services, as well as customer business with financial institutions. It includes all activities related to the trading books of the company, including the execution of trade, market making and short term liquidity management. In addition, it comprises business connected with servicing financial institutions as clients.

Asset/Liability Management & Local Corporate Center

This segment includes all asset/liability management functions - local and of the company - as well as the local corporate centers which comprise all non-core banking business activities, such as internal service providers and reconciliation items to local entity results. The corporate center of the company is included in the Group Corporate Center segment.

Savings Banks

This segment includes those savings banks which are members of the Haftungsverbund (cross-guarantee system) of the Austrian savings banks sector. It served more than 4 million customers in Austria.

Group Corporate Center

The Group Corporate Center (GCC) segment covers mainly centrally managed activities and items that are not directly allocated to other segments.
