Olympia Financial Group Inc., through its subsidiary Olympia Trust Company, operates as a non-deposit taking trust corporation in Canada.
Olympia Trust is licensed to conduct trust activities in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia.
Divisions
The company operates through Private Health Services Plan, Registered Plans, Foreign Exchange, Corporate and Shareholder Services, and Exempt Edge divisions.
The Private Health Services Plan division conducts business under Olympia Benefits Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Olympia. The Private Health Services Plan division markets, sells and administers health and wellness benefits to business owners.
The Registered Plans division administers self-directed registered plans.
The Foreign Exchange division allows corporations and private clients to buy and sell foreign currencies. The division offers its clients same-day transactions, as well as long-term forward contracts. With offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg, the Foreign Exchange division is well situated to service Western Canada.
The Corporate and Shareholder Services division provides transfer agent and registrar services to public and private issuers across Canada. Corporate and Shareholder Services is positioned as an alternative to the large trust companies that are principally focused on Eastern Canada. The services provided by Corporate and Shareholder Services include administering dividend reinvestment, acting as depository and disbursing agent for corporate reorganizations.
The Exempt Edge division focuses on the provision of information technology services to exempt market dealers, registrants and issuers. The Exempt Edge division conducts business under Exempt Edge Inc. Olympia holds an 80% controlling interest in Exempt Edge Inc. and a third party holds a non-controlling interest of 20%.
