About JSR
JSR Corporation engages in the production and sale of petrochemicals, synthetic rubbers, and emulsions. It applies its polymer technology for production of photo-chemicals and organic synthesis-chemicals. It offers opto-electronic materials. The company operates in four segments: Elastomers, Emulsions, Plastics, and Fine Chemicals and Other Products.
Elastomers
The Elastomers segment offers synthetic rubber products, including styrene-butadiene rubber, butadiene rubber, isoprene rubber, solution styrene butadiene rubber, high styrene rubber, nitrile rubber, butyl rubber, ethylene butene-1 copolymer, silicone rubber, fluorocarbon rubber, polymer alloy, and ethylene-propylene rubber; compounded products; and thermoplastics elastomers and other products, including syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene, styrene butadiene block copolymer, styrene isoprene block copolymer, and hydrogenated polymer.
Emulsions
The Emulsions segment produces paper coating materials and special chemical products, such as styrene-butadiene latex, paper coating latex (PCL), general-purpose latex, and acrylic emulsion. The PCL is used, as a binder, for giving the paper surface smoothness, whiteness and brightness, in addition to the improved printing property. There are ranges of applications, from the coated art papers used for printing art books, to miscellaneous paper used for advertisement leaflets.
Plastics
The Plastics segment offers acrylonitrile-butadiene styrene plastic, acrylonitrile-ethylene-propylene-diene-styrene plastic, acrylonitrile-styrene plastic, and butadiene plastic.
Fine chemicals and Other Products
The Fine chemicals and Other products segment produces semiconductor materials, such as photoresists, chemical mechanical planarization materials, packaging and assembly materials, and antireflective coating materials; flat panel display materials, including protective film, alignment film, and pigment dispersed resists for liquid crystal displays; and optical materials, including optical fiber coating materials, functional coating materials, antireflection treatment, and heat-resistant transparent resin and film. It also offers outer wall coatings for buildings, chemicals and chemical products, circuit testing fixtures, and manufacturing technologies for polymers.
In addition, the company offers water soluble polymer for dispersant and waste water treatment system, polymer particles, latex for clinical diagnosis, reagent for nucleic acids research, and a concentration standard solution, which is used for calibrating fine particle counters in the semiconductor and medical fields.
Market
The company operates in China, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, the United States, Italy and Belgium.
Customers
The company’s major user industries are automobile, automotive tires, and paper.
