Corn syrup, Powdered Corn Syrup and Dextrin: Corn syrup is used to sweeten and add richness and body to various food products. With functional properties that include water retention, it is used in sweets, breads, milk products, bean paste, jam, and beer. Powdered corn syrup, which is derived by spray-drying corn syrup, and dextrin are attracting attention as products that could be used in enteral nutrition formulations and meals prepared for nursing care patients.

Isomalto-oligosaccharides: The company’s proprietary research has led to the development of isomalto-oligosaccharides, functional oligosaccharides. Isomalto-oligosaccharides possess bioactive functions, such as promoting the growth of bifidus bacteria. In addition, it has been proven to enhance flavor, resulting in its adoption in various food products.

Household Foods Business

This segment supplies various products used in the home, including vegetable oils, wheat flour, tempura batter mixes, hotcake mixes and other premixes, pasta, health foods, and gift sets.

Vegetable Oils: The company’s range of vegetable oils includes salad oil, canola oil, olive oil, and its pure sunflower oil called Olein Rich, which is rich in oleic acid and vitamin E.

Wheat Flour and Premixes: Offerings include the company’s high-grade tempura batter mixes called Showa Tempurako Ogon; Cake no Youna Hotcake Mix endorsed by Le Patissier Takagi; the company’s series of Tezukuri Oyatsu Kobo for parents and children to making snacks; and Renji de Chinsuru Karaageko (fried chicken batter mixes), which enable preparation of fried chicken in a microwave oven without the need for oil.

Pasta: The company’s lineup of pastas, featuring great texture and convenience, is made from 100% durum semolina and could be used in various dishes.

Health Food: The company’s nutritious lineup of health foods includes Okama ni Pon, which ensures that you get your required daily intake of vitamin E by putting one particle into your rice cooker, and Oligo Time, recognized by Japanfs Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as a food for specified health use.

Animal Feed Business

Kyushu Showa Sangyo Co., Ltd. also supplies animal feed made from roasted soybeans, sells eggs, operates pig-fattening farms, and supplies fertilizers.

Showa Keiran Co., Ltd. purchases eggs to make egg products. Warehousing Business

Shourei Co., Ltd.: Shourei Co., Ltd. engages in the freezer and refrigerated warehouse business.
