Nestlé S.A. manufactures and distributes food and beverage products in various categories, such as powdered and liquid beverages, water, milk products and ice cream, prepared dishes and cooking aids, confectionery and petcare.

The company also manufactures and distributes nutritional science products through its globally managed business Nestlé Health Science and science-based solutions that contribute to the health of skin, hair and nails through Nestlé Skin Health. The company has factories in 86 countries and sales in 191 countries.

The company operates through Zone Europe, Middle East and North Africa; Zone Americas; Zone Asia, Oceania and sub-Saharan Africa; Nestlé Waters; and Nestlé Nutrition segments.

Joint Ventures

The company holds various joint ventures operating in the food and beverage activities. These joint ventures are Froneri and Cereal Partners Worldwide. In 2016, the company launched a joint venture with Britain s R&R Ice Cream called Froneri. The company and R&R contributed their ice cream businesses across Europe, the Middle East (excluding Israel), Argentina, Australia, Brazil, the Philippines and South Africa to form the new company. The company also contributed part of its European frozen food business, as well as its chilled dairy business in the Philippines.

Significant Events

In 2019, the company had agreed to sell a 60% stake of Herta to Casa Tarradellas. The company and Casa Tarradellas would create a joint venture for Herta with their respective stakes of 40% and 60%. The joint venture includes Herta charcuterie (cold cuts and meat-based products) available in six European countries, as well as the Herta dough business in France and Belgium.
