The company's products are divided into following business segments: Edible Nuts, Spices, and Beans; Confectionery and Beverage Ingredients; Industrial Raw Materials; and Food Staples and Packaged Foods.

The Edible Nuts, Spices, and Beans Segment offers cashews, peanuts, almonds, spices and dehydrates, sesame, and beans, including pulses, lentils, and peas.

The Confectionery and Beverage Ingredients Segment offers cocoa, coffee, and sheanuts.

The Industrial Raw Materials Segment offers cotton wool, wood products, and rubber.

The Food Staples and Packaged Foods Segment offers rice, sugar, wheat, barley, palm, dairy products, and packaged foods.

Acquisitions

In February 2009, the company acquired 100% of the issued share capital of Olam Alimentos S.A.

In October 2008, the company acquired sugar mill assets of Girdharilal Sugar and Allied Industries Limited.

Significant Events

In December 2009, Olam International Limited announced that the company has incorporated the new subsidiaries named as Olam Orchards Australia Pty Ltd. and Outspan Costa Rica S.A. The principle activities involved in these subsidiaries is Horticultural operations, initially within the almond and Sourcing, processing, packaging and merchandising of agricultural products respectively.
