Telkom SA SOC Limited intends to supply telecommunication, multimedia, technology, information and other related information technology services to the group customers, as well as mobile communication services, in Africa.

In 2017, the company’s subsidiary, Business Connexion Group Limited (BCX), acquired the entire issued ordinary share capital of Taropa Technologies (Proprietary) Limited, which provides business solutions based on information and communication technology and runs information and communications technology systems and manages products, services and solutions for a range of customers.

Segments

The company operates through three segments: Openserve, Consumer, and BCX.

Openserve

This segment is Telkom South Africa’s redesigned wholesale and networks division, which provides access services.

Consumer

This segment provides fixedline and data communication services through Telkom South Africa, and the Mobile business offers mobile voice services, data services and handset sales through Telkom Mobile.

BCX

This segment provides converged infrastructure solutions, information and communication services including cloud, infrastructure, and workspace services; global service integration management; and hardware and network equipment sales in South Africa, seven African countries, the U.K. and Dubai.
