Manufacturas de Papel CA (the company or MANPA) was founded in 1950. Production was oriented toward manufacturing multiple-folding sacks aimed at meeting the needs of C.A FABRICA NACIONAL DE CEMENTOS as well as all-purpose bags for commerce and the industry in general. Both plants began operating in the same storehouse, located in Los Cortijos de Lourdes, Caracas.

In 1972, COOPERATIVA GUAYAMURE was created together with C.A FABRICA DE PAPEL DE MARACAY in order to develop industrial Caribe pine plantations to obtain raw materials and to reduce imports. Two years later, CORPORACIÓN FORESTAL IMATACA, C.A. was incorporated to develop a similar project on lands situated in Monagas State.

Products

School and Office Products

Manpa, through its School and Office Products Conversion Division, offers products of excellent quality manufactured in Venezuela, presents its new Products Line for this "Alpes 2003 School Season".

Printing, Writing and Packaging Division

The company’s Printing, Writing and Packaging mill (IEE paper) is located in the city of Maracay, Aragua State. Here, three paper machines with an approximate annual production capacity of 120,000 metric tons together with a secondary fiber processing plant (Deinked Paste) with an annual capacity of 52,500 MT, fully integrated to paper production process, allows for preparing wide shades of products belonging to two main lines:

Printing and Writing: White and color Bond paper from different shades, ranging from 56 to 120 gr/m2, White and color copies of 45 gr/m2, Copy paper, Laser and inkjet printers of 78 and 90 gr/m2, White and color Bristol cards of 135,150,163 and 200 gr/m2, Manila tag card of 150,163, and 200 gr/m2 and Continuous Bond forms (Register) from 50 to 90 gr/m2.

Boxes and Packages: MG Natural from 45 to 85 gr/m, MGBro (Golden Brown) 75,81,90 gr/m2 for envelopes , MG White 50 gr/m2 , Wrapping paper (sulfite) from 38 to 50 gr/m2, MF Gold 81 gr/m2, MF natural from 81 to 97 gr/m2, MF white 81 and 97 gr/m2, MF waxy paper 50 gr/m2 (matches paper), Cone glass paper 90,95,103,110 gr/m2, Test liner from 115 to 250 gr/m2 , Corrugate means from 127 to gr/m2, White Kraft liner 180 gr/m2 and Natural crepe 110 gr/m2 for filters.

IEE Paper Division production aims at meeting the needs of raw materials from the other company divisions and at selling to both local and international converting companies.

Main export markets of this division are the Andean Community Countries and the Caribbean.

Reams and Business Forms

Through its plant located in Maracay, Edo. Aragua, the company’s reams and business forms, brings products to different markets. The main brands are Alpes and AlpesForm.

Hygienic

This mill is located in Maracay. Its production capacity is 85.000 MTPY of various grades of tissue paper on its 6 paper machines. Additionally, the company owns a deinked paste plant with a capacity of 35.500 metric tons, completely integrated to the paper production process. The company’s main products are Toilet Tissue, napkins, kitchen Towels, Facial Tissue, Wrapping Paper, and Jumbo paper rolls usually for foreign markets.

Packing Division

Bag Division: The Bag Division is located in the city of Maracay, Aragua State, where a range of products is manufactured, such as: square-bottom bags and flat-bottom bags, with or without printing. This division has a variety of clients, including pharmaceutical companies, bakeries and stores, among others.

Sack Division: At the plant located in Maracay, Aragua State, the Sack Division manufactures glued-bottom and sown-bottom multiple-folding sacks aimed at mainly Cement Manufacturing Plants, Concentrated Food Processing Plants and Sugar Processing Plants. The main manufactured products are Multiple-folding sacks: folded and sown bottom.
