Rumo S.A. operates as a service provider in the logistics sector (transport and elevation), principally for export commodities, providing an integrated transport solution, handling, storage and shipment from the production centers to the main southern and southeast ports, and also holds interests in other companies and ventures related to logistic. The company is a direct subsidiary of Cosan Logística S.A.
The company operates in the rail transportation segment in Southern Brazil through its subsidiary Rumo Malha Sul S.A., and the Midwest region and State of São Paulo through the company and subsidiaries Rumo Malha Paulista S.A., Rumo Malha Norte S.A. and Rumo Malha Oeste S.A. In addition, the subsidiary Brado Logística e Participações S.A. operates in the container segment while Elevações Portuárias S.A. has terminals for transshipment and terminals for export of sugar and grains in the Port of Santos. The company operates 4 rail concessions in Brazil, totaling 12,900 kilometers of railways, 19 million tons of lifting capacity in the Port of Santos, 966 locomotives, and 28,000 wagons.

Railway Transportation
Agricultural Commodities: The company offers transportation services for fertilizers, corn, wheat, soybean, bran, vegetable oil and sugar.
Fuel – Ethanol: The company’s fuel logistics (clear derivatives - gasoline and diesel) operation begins in the main refineries in the Southern region of Brazil and in São Paulo and transports the commodities to consumption areas in the states of Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, São Paulo, Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul. Ethanol comes from São Paulo and is distributed to the Southern region of the country. For the vegetable oil segment, products are channeled to the ports of Paranaguá, São Francisco, Santos and Rio Grande, in partnership with the major players in the sector, such as Bunge, Cargill, Coinbra, Agrenco and Imcop. Primary clients include Petrobras, Raízen, Ipiranga, Ipiranga, Alesat, and Latina e CPA.
Final Goods: The company transports products with greater added value in various segments, such as construction, steel, forestry, consumption, petrochemical, fertilizers, and containers. Some of the main clients of the segment include: Braskem, Camargo Corrêa, Camil, Cimento Ribeirão, Rio Tinto, CSN, Gerdau, Belgo Mineira, Gonvarri, Grupo Votorantim, Ipiranga, Josapar, Klabin, Masisa, Sadia, Vega do Sul, MCR, Vetorial, Frangosul, Seara, Renault and Unilever.
Terminal and Storage Operations
The company’s terminals are structured to handle bulk and manufactured goods, with capacity to receive 54 thousand tonnes/day by highway or rail.
Logistics Projects
The company engages in Logistics Projects, responsible for the development and implementation of new businesses in the industrial and agricultural commodities segments.
Cement: The company provides logistics services to Camargo Corrêa Cimentos, one of the major Brazilian companies of the sector. The operation at the Apiaí factory, in the State of São Paulo, features inbound input handling, highway and railway shipment of final goods to the company‘s terminals and/or distribution centers in the three southern states of Brazil.
Refrigerated Cargo: The company offers railway-based logistics solutions to handle refrigerated cargo. The company has implemented a terminal structure adapted to receive refrigerated cargo in strategic places along the rail network, such as Esteio (in greater Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul state), Cambé and Cascavel (both in Paraná state). In addition, it has installed railcar re-cooling centers in Guarapuava and Curitiba (Paraná), attracting new clients, such as Seara, Frangosul and Perdigão. By offering direct service to the container terminals at port such as Santos, Paranaguá, Rio Grande and São Francisco do Sul, Rumo provides these clients a direct export line.
