Australia Commercial

The Australia Commercial division provides a full range of banking products and financial services, including asset financing, across the following customer segments: SME Banking (small business owners and medium commercial customers), and Specialist Business (large commercial customers, and high net worth individuals and family groups).

Institutional

The Institutional division services global institutional and corporate customers, and governments across Australia, New Zealand and International (including Papua New Guinea (PNG)) via the following business units:

Transaction Banking provides customers with working capital and liquidity solutions, including documentary trade, supply chain financing, commodity financing as well as cash management solutions, deposits, payments and clearing.

Corporate Finance provides customers with loan products, loan syndication, specialized loan structuring and execution, project and export finance, debt structuring and acquisition finance and corporate advisory services.

Markets provides customers with risk management services in foreign exchange, interest rates, credit, commodities, and debt capital markets in addition to managing the Group's interest rate exposure and liquidity position.

New Zealand

The New Zealand division comprises the following business units:

Personal provides a full range of banking and wealth management services to consumer and private banking customers. The company delivers its services via its internet and app-based digital solutions and a network of branches, mortgage specialists, relationship managers and contact centres.

Business & Agri (previously Business) provides a full range of banking services through the company's digital, branch and contact centre channels, and traditional relationship banking and sophisticated financial solutions through dedicated managers. These cover privately owned small, medium and large enterprises, the agricultural business segment, government and government-related entities.

Pacific

The Pacific division provides products and services to retail and commercial customers (including multi-nationals) and to governments located in the Pacific region, excluding PNG, which forms part of the Institutional division.

Group Centre

Group Centre division provides support to the operating divisions, including technology, property, risk management, financial management, treasury, strategy, marketing, human resources, corporate affairs, and shareholder functions. It also includes minority investments in Asia and interests in the ANZ Non-Bank Group.

The Australia Retail, Australia Commercial, New Zealand, and Pacific divisions derive income from products and services in retail and commercial banking. The Institutional division derives its income from institutional products and market services.

Types

The company offers or uses four different types of derivative financial instruments:

Forwards: A contract documenting the rate of interest, or the currency exchange rate, to be paid or received on a notional principal amount at a future date.

Futures: An exchange traded contract in which the parties agree to buy or sell an asset in the future for a price agreed on the transaction date, with a net settlement in cash paid on the future date without physical delivery of the asset.

Swaps: A contract in which two parties exchange one series of cash flows for another.

Options: A contract in which the buyer of the contract has the right - but not the obligation - to buy (known as a 'call option') or to sell (known as a 'put option') an asset or instrument at a set price on a future date. The seller has the corresponding obligation to fulfil the transaction to sell or buy the asset or instrument if the buyer exercises the option.

Investment Securities

The company's investment securities are government securities, corporate and financial institution securities, other securities, and equity securities.

Loans

The company's loans are overdrafts, credit cards, commercial bills, term loans - housing, term loans - non-housing, and other loans.

Deposits

The company's deposits are certificates of deposit, term deposits, on demand and short term deposits, deposits not bearing interest, deposits from banks and securities sold under repurchase agreements, and commercial paper and other borrowings.
