Itaconix plc designs and manufactures proprietary specialty polymers to the home care and industrial markets and in personal care.

The company’s proprietary polymer technology generates a range of new ingredients. Its sustainable polymers allow product and brand managers to meet new customer needs in a range of home and personal care products.

In odour control, the company expanded its supply agreement with Croda and the market potential for its odour control technology with the introduction of ZINADOR 35L. In January 2020, the company launched its new Itaconix TSI 322 detergent polymer that offers value in detergents and received a patent on automatic dish detergents to protect its intellectual property until at least 2037. In February 2020, the company announced a new agreement with New Wave Global Services, a Canadian supplier of detergents to North American retailers, to supply approximately 1 million lbs of its detergent polymers through 2021 to meet volumes for its detergents from existing and new customers.

In Personal Care, the company expanded its global sales effort by transitioning from the direct sale of its RevCare NE100S product to supplying the polymer for Nouryon to market worldwide as Amaze SP within its hair styling polymer product line.

The company completed its transition to a sustainable specialty ingredient company in 2019 with the sale of its minority interest in Alkalon A/S, a Danish nicotine gum company.

In 2019, the company completed its divestment in the nicotine gum business when the company sold its holdings (22.49%) in its associate, Alkalon A/S to the associate’s existing shareholders.

History

The company was incorporated in 2012. It was formerly known as Revolymer plc and changed its name to Itaconix plc in 2017.
