Automotive Sector

The Automotive Division manufactures utility vehicles, light commercial vehicles and three wheelers. Military Vehicles: The Company's Military Vehicles include Double Strecher Ambulance, Weapon Carriers, Rapid Intervention Vehicles, Water Trucks, Light Logistic Carriers and Station Wagons. MDS also carries out Bullet Proofing of vehicles and Cash in Transit Vans.

Farm Equipment Sector Mahindra & Mahindra share price history

The Tractor (Farm Equipment) Division makes agricultural tractors and implements that are used in conjunction with tractors. This division has also ventured into manufacturing of industrial engines. The Company also designs, develops, manufactures and markets tractors, as well as implements which are used in conjunction with tractors. The tractor industry in India is segmented by horsepower into the lower segment of 25 HP, mid-segment of 35 HP and higher segment of 45 HP and above. The Company's Farm Equipment Sector has a presence in all these segments across all states.

The Farm Equipment Sector has also ventured into manufacturing of Industrial Engines. M&M Industrial engines are used for various applications like Genset, Industrial, Construction, Marine Compressors. These engines are manufactured at the Company's state of art Engine Assembly plants at Kandivli and Nagpur. M&M exports tractors to United States, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and African countries like Uganda, Nigeria and Zambia.

Products

The Company's Tractors Below 30 HP include Yuvraj, 265 DI Sarpanch, 265 DI Bhoomiputra. Tractors Between 30-40 HP include Arjun 445 DI, 275 DI TU Sarpanch, 275 DI TU Bhoomiputra, 475 DI - Sarpanch and 475 DI - Bhoomiputra. Tractors Above 40 HP include Arjun 555 DI, Arjun 605 DI, 575 DI - Sarpanch, 575 DI Bhoomiputra, 585 DI - Sarpanch. Farm Implements include Rigid Tine Cultivator, Mounted Offset Disk Harrow, Spring Loaded Tiller, Mounted Disc Plough, Leveller, Mounted Mould Board Plough, Heavy Duty Tiller and Reversible Plough.

Information Technology Solutions

The Company's IT solutions include Management Information Systems to high end Knowledge Management Systems involving customized Internet Search Robots, Document and Database Management Systems. The Company also provides Digital Consulting, E-Security, Modeling/Simulation and Mobile Computing, as well as Real Time Decision Support Systems. MDS has also undertaken proactive development of Mobile Battlefield/ Border Surveillance Platforms, Simulators for training in Small Arms, as well as Virtual Reality based training systems.

Trade and Financial Services Sector

Mahindra Intertrade, Ltd.: Mahindra Intertrade, Ltd. undertakes imports, exports, third country business, domestic trading & marketing & distribution activities. MIL handles Metals, Ferro Alloys, Application Engineering products, Consumer Goods and Engineering goods.

Mahindra Steel Services Center, Ltd.: MSSCL supplies cut-to-length steel blanks and silt coils to the automobile and home-appliances industries. The main plant has processing lines, such as a feeder line, a slitting line, a shearing line and an electrical sheet slitting line.

Mahindra and Mahindra Financial Services, Ltd.: M&M with Kotak Mahindra Finance as a promoter, MMFSL is in the business of finance, leasing and hire purchase. Siro Plast, Ltd.: Siro Plast manufactures engineered composites such as sheet-moulding compounds and dough-moulding compounds. Its partnership with Menzolit GmbH of Germany provides Siro Plast the latest technology in formulations, manufacturing processes, application engineering, and mould design and manufacturing. Its products are made using different types of reinforcements, such as chopped glass roving, chopped strand mats, continuous roving and synthetic fibres. Siroplast's customer list includes M&M, Telco and Ashok Leyland.

MUSCO: MUSCO produces various categories of alloy steel in various sizes, shapes (such as rounds, squares, flats and bars) as per specifications. MUSCO's products have demand from automobile, engineering and capital goods industries. It supplies panels to various auto OEMs including Ashok Leyland, TELCO and M&M.

Mahindra Engineering and Chemical Products, Ltd.: Mahindra Engineering and Chemical Products, Ltd. operates two divisions, M-Seal Division is engaged in manufacturing and marketing of products for Energy Sector and Engineering Division is a major manufacturer of material handling equipment. Joint Ventures

International Truck and Engine Corporation entered into a joint venture agreement with Mahindra & Mahindra, Ltd. of India to produce diesel engines for medium and heavy commercial trucks and buses in India. The joint venture, to be named Mahindra International Engines Ltd. (MIEL), would be 51% owned by the Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) and 49% owned by Warrenville, III-based Navistar, North America's combined commercial truck, school bus and mid-range diesel engine producer.

Navistar International Corp. and Mahindra & Mahindra, Ltd. have formed a joint venture, Mahindra International Engines, Ltd, which would produce diesel engines for medium and heavy trucks and buses in India. The venture would be 51% owned by M&M and 49% by Navistar.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has entered into a joint venture with the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) to design and develop a new general aviation aircraft.

The company has entered into a 51:49 joint venture agreement with the International Truck and Engine Corporation. The two partners have decided to produce 70,000 units of medium and heavy commercial vehicles per year to meet both domestic and overseas demand.

Significant Events

Mahindra & Mahindra, Ltd. launched its vehicles in Sudan. The company has introduced the Scorpio mHawk, Mahindra Pik-Up and the new Bolero Pik-Ups in Sudan, in association with Symex International of Sudan.

Mahindra & Mahindra, Ltd. announced the launch of its Mahindra Scorpio SUV in Chile in partnership with Fortaleza SA.

ARCH Capital Asian Partners L.P. has formed a joint venture with the Mahindra & Mahindra, Ltd. for the development of a residential community in Chennai, India. Under the agreement, the Mahindra Group would own 51% of the joint venture entity with the balance controlled by ARCH Capital-controlled investment vehicle. The plan involves the development of a residential community within the 1,500-acre Mahindra World City in Chennai, India. The project would be constructed in around 55 acres of land located within the MWC Special Economic Zone designated for low-density residential community development.

The company, in May 2008, launched two models, Pik Up and Scorpio in Turkey partnering with ILCE Group. These vehicles have been launched in various parts of the world, including South Africa, Europe and several South and Central American markets. The company introduced the models in association with ILCE Otomotiv Servis ve Ticaret AS.
